Katakuri lost to a Luffy that got one shot by Kaido, meanwhile King is fighting Zoro who didn't get one shot by Kaido. Katakuri was superior to Luffy in haki and his mastery of his devil fruit but Luffy just has that much better endurance and willpower. So based off feats Katakuri is meh at this point in the story.
