A bastard game is a game where you cannot trust the host. The information given to you by them is not trustworthy. That doesn't mean that a bastard game is unbalanced. They should not be confused with a broken game. Broken games have broken, overpowered roles and mechanics that weren't balanced correctly. That doesn't necessarily make the game bastard, however.
The best metric to view it is this:
Bastard games = the host will lie to you.
Broken games = the setup is poorly balanced.

I guess if someone calls your game bastard when you are not trying to make it one, it's possible that players don't have a reasonable explanation for their role which may cause them to play under false pretense.
I think two things that make game bastard. Mods lying to players and their role giving them false information which also makes them change their way of playing.

Bastard mechanics follow that general rule of untrustworthy information. Fake write-ups, death millers, forger, etc. There will usually be something implemented to counter these: write-up checks and coroner. Having a few bastard mechanics in the game doesn't make bastard though. It's only if the entire game is made up of lies.
Uncommon mechanics are unusual mechanics that don't appear in most games. Locations, shop, currency, the magic knight squads in All-Stars, all those I would consider as an uncommon mechanic.

I wanted therefore to ask you if I was allowed to sign up for the Harry Potter game that is about to start. I'm only asking by myself just in order to make sure I would not lose a spot if I was allowed as they fill in very quickly usually and the sign up thread has already been opened, nothing more to that really. It's not just because my ban is supposed to be expired though, I don't necessarily care about returning exactly now for the reason of playing the upcoming game at all costs, not at all, but because I feel like I'm ready to start playing again, that is the only relevant thing, or else I would have personally kept on waiting before asking to make sure to feel ready even if that would have costed me additional games of waiting.
It has been almost a couple of months since I was banned and I did reflect a lot on my old playstyle, even thoroughly analyzing my previous games, finding solutions to my heavy mistakes to make sure they'd never come back. I did really put a lot of effort here to improve my quality and I have to prove it now. I'm confident about my work and my potentialities also considering I'm not a newbie to this environment. I would still make sure to never get cocky and give my best effort into each game however.
Also, a different note regarding ToS (despite HP will not regard that) : despite I never played many ToS, I made sure to read Zemmi's ToS guide several times to memorize as much info as I could manage and will keep properly observe that guide for the future times I'd play that variation of Mafia.
One thing I also believe is that playing too much in the past inficiated my performances having a real tool on me, I should have taken breaks in the past, in fact I did easily burn myself out, so I came to the conclusion that I would likely not be as active as I was since I don't just play Mafia on this forum but do several other activities hence it is vital for me not to play many games in order to perform under an optimal shape. I think that even in the offchance 4 games a month will be run in the future, SRM aside, I will still probably end up joining only 1 a month most of the times. I think playing once a month will on the one hand at least not keep me out of shape also allowing me to play Mafia here, and on the other also not burn me out.
On this purpose I would like to ask @Natalija if she was ok with playing with me again or if she preferred to play games separately, both solutions being totally fine to me. The fact I would only play a few games opens a lot of ground for playing in turns as long as she desires so and in addition I would make her choose which games to play too, I don't have any troubles with that. All I want for is returning to play, I'm not going to be picky or demanding too, as being able to play games again is all I ask for here, that would render me extremely happy already. I did still spend some amazing times on this Mafia community despite some were not happy, and got very attached to it. I really do care about staying as long as I can show a proper in-game demeanor.
P.S. I wanted to type this post in PVT at first but then I figured it would be more fair if anyone eventually interested could read.
