I doubt it's like that, BB's original crew is rather mid there's a reason he became a warlord for the sole reason to recruit the worst of the worst criminals.

They are still gonna become stronger than they were with new abilities don't get me wrong but that's besides the point.

Shiryu was never mid he was said to be as strong as magellan who had 2 warlords plus ivankov shitting their pants.
Ivankov even said if shiryu was still active luffy would have never gotten that far.
