Nah, this Law was probably meant to solo Doflamingo if Doflamingo appeared in this arc.
But thankfully, Doflamingo had his own arc. Imagine Oda off screening most of Doflamingo vs Wano Law...

I look at it the same way, so current Law being around YC1 level is reasonable. Post Wano Law should be stronger than Marco, King, Kata imo.

No it isn't. Significant character growth is always indicated in some way shape or form. Zoro and Sanji received power ups, Kid fought several battles in the New world and trained in Udon, Law hasn't done a single thing of that. He's marginally stronger than his dressrosa self.

We literally see it right before our eyes, Law tanked an attack that took out post WCI Luffy.

Sanji went from getting trashed by Doffy and Vergo to fighting Queen with no power up, it's just how things are

Base Sanji would literally still get trashed by Doffy, he didn't even tickle Queen's balls, he confirmed it himself even.

Plot reasons. Ashura would end the battle in a wimp and that would be too fast paced.

Actually we can easily infer by using Luffy, who Doffy self admittedly couldn't stab in his gear 4th form, while he was chopping up law like a vegetable. Dressrosa Law had a significantly lower defense that Gear 4th Luffy.

Base Sanji would literally still get trashed by Doffy, he didn't even tickle Queen's balls, he confirmed it himself even.

The fact that he's still standing and not seriously injured shows based Sanji is way stronger than broken leg and the guy who was one "room" away from being beheaded
