The problem is that Marco was never meant to defeat King or Queen because those two were reserved for Zoro and Sanji.

Marco defeating either of the two would lessen the impact of the fight same way Jack got beaten by Dukes before his ultimate defeat.

Same way P1 and Sanji, if Sanji beaten P1 the stakes of Onigashima would drop because now you have Sanji beating already one F6

Same way Drake, Hawkings and so on werent defeted so early

Marco was just never meant to defeat King or Queen bcs those two were for Zoro and Sanji.

Marco was just a plot device to keep them busy

When Marco is healing people he put his flame on them and then turns it off when they're done healing.

That's literally what happens. The flames are still attached to Marco. How do you think they deactivated after Chopper cured the virus??

You don't give Marco free passes for that and scale him over King. Both of them are evenly matched tbh.
