His personality isn't the big issue, it's rather his power level that leaves me with a bitter taste.

That's literally what I wrote here.
Him being a clever, cunning, despicable weakling makes him a perfect villain.
I know most young readers always want a badass powerhouse villain, but that's just not great writing. This type of villain gets boring quickly.

Is this a response? I thought we were talking about fictional characters with magic powers? Remember that time Zoro moved like faster than the eye can see... Remember that time Luffy knocked out 50000 men... I mean are you sure there's litwrally nothing that could've been done except Oden cutting down people he knows are simply misguided and being tricked by Orochi... Surely if the french had Conquerers haki it would be about different story

And this motivation is also sort of dumb too... He literally walks away from the town being polluted one chapter ago and then he comes back and Toki has a SMALL SCAR And he just gets filled with righteous vengeance now and he can't even rationalise at all

Like all this time we were led to believe that Oden get killed was a tragedy that was covered up somehow but as far as anybody knows this man was an actual terrorist. .. He seemingly did nothing to try and convince anybody through dialogue and plowed through the capital like a mad man... I mean what is anybody supposed to take from just seeing this guy come out of nowhere rampaging all over the town
