Because although he's been kind of unhelpful in this game, I think that he's been pretty harmless. I fee like when he's scum, there feels to be some sort of agenda behind his moves and usually you can sense there's scumminess in his game. Here he genuinely feels like he's just goofing off and not taking this game seriously.
