I doubt it will be stuck with just DDs explanation as it doesn't match to Zoan...and the two awakenings which we saw both were similar...both could create Mochi/threads and so just increased their ability to the next level. I don't see how it will be effective to say Luffy or Jozu who cannot produce but are just made of their element. I actually remember making a theory in OroJackson maybe, where the simple rule was awakening is just the better version of themselves...like making better threads, becoming better rubber etc.... I mean we all know oda won't stick to rules(he probably doesn't even have especially for paramecia which is so diverse) but things that just look like a good attack him. So in the end we might just see Kid using a better attack than Punk gibson thats it....Law I don't even know.... oda will just do random shit...and it is now clear that oda is not going to make them use Haki at all(as expected) and is just going with the easy route of using random DF power ups.

Read what spoilers said. They can only use it as LAST RESORT. Law's GK sounds pretty much like his awakening (destruction from the inside).

For all we know they could have always had 2-3 awakened moves, they just never/rarely used them.

Had Big Mom fought Kid/Law pre-training, that’s what would’ve happened. You underestimate the Supernova and thinks it diminishes Yonko level characters, no that just speaks to the SN’s fortitude. Big Mom has been toying around with these kids and has been ALLOWING them to regain their wits, and still; they’re on their last legs. That’s Yonko level 🤷🏿‍♂️
