Lahmacuns are great but I don’t understand why they’re called Turkish Pizza. It’s completely different for me, only the shape is the same.
Hmm, I'm guessing aside from the shape, due to the dough and that they have similar ingredients maybe? A topping of tomatoes, peppers, onions meat and herbs? Maybe it's done to help people relate to them and want to try them?
It is very different despite some similarities ofc but I think it might be done for tourists and such?

When I was on holiday in Turkey, the tourists would refuse to eat anything Turkish, well anything they didn't recognise or had "weird names" and they all gravitated towards the english food section of the hotel's food service and just had pizza, chips, omelettes etc everyday, it was depressing to watch. I was trying the Turkish food and loving it!

Lahmacun tastes completely different for me but I get your point. You often put fresh onion, salad etc. into your Lahmacun and roll it like a Wrap.
Turkish food is great, probably my favourite beneath Italian cuisine

Oh that's just sad. Some Turkish food is really amazing and it's a bit like Albanian so I kinda grew up with it.
