This is nerfed Zoro vs King, who switching between different forms and using different powers. Even a faster attack than anything we've seen from Katakuri and WCI Luffy and King still can't beat Zoro. The most he could do is overpower Zoro with physical strength.

This chapter makes it very clear that not only is King incredibly strong and near the top of the YC1. But Zoro is also incredibly strong and needs to be nerf so that the battle doesn't end too quickly. There's a reason why King hasn't used as fire technique and Zoro hasn't used his fire render attack.
