Zoro will always have better Ap/lethality than Luffy because he using Swords. Its the reason Luffy was taking a million hits from Katakuri, but avoided his Trident like a plague. The one trident hit made Katakuri have to nerf himself back.

Read the manga. Luffy had to learn a technique (internal destruction haki) to bypass Kaido durability while Zoro defeated it with his technique (Ryu). If Luffy had more AP he wouldn't need to bypass Kaido scales.

Zoro is struggling, but it's against a character who's harder to damage than Kaido. That means Luffy attacks won't work against King either. To hurt him you must learn the secret behind his power.

Luffy one shotted Bellamy with his first attack. The very first punch he threw at Bellamy knocked him out
Kaido one shotted Luffy with his first attack not his second. His very first attack. Luffy got a bagua to the face and slept
Zoro vs Kaku, Apoo and Killer ain't one shots cos Zoro kept clashing with them, Hell I swear he used named attacks on Apoo and Kaku before finishing em off with one of his top hitters.
