Why should they stop trashing him ?

It's the Kaidou side who always thought that Kaidou would never have a bad showing in this manga, thus taking the right to freely trash every other character whatsoever without any context , but cry when their own ass is on the chopping block.

Yes nobody will say either Kaido or Oden was weake than the other in that battle but storywise since Kaido didnt use Hybrid and koka (from spoilers shown and stated so far , no mention)
If the fight continued, Oden wouldn't win at all.

They dominate Zoan Jack but Base Jack matches them and they cant beat him
Or Luffy pummeling zoan Kaido and drunk base Kaido

How do you know he didn't use hybrid?

Jack was actually losing if you didn't know.

well they got easily deceived by his title and reputation , while it could have been a strategy from the WG to scare pirates and keep them away from Wano anyway being the first yonko to go down is the strongest evident that he is the weakest among the yonkos

They are trolling hard

Oda has been pushing the growth narrative over the years for many characters this arc.
Kaido is no exception, I literally wrote it in my threads.

They also underestimated Oden

Most of them don't understand storytelling
They just read what they wanna believe
