Okay so let’s see..this chapter didn’t hand Kaido as horrific of an L as I had personally hoped, though I did read that he only defeated Oden because Momonosuke was taken hostage.

I can work with this, all of the admiral downplayers claiming Kizaru could not defeat Marco without onigumo’s help despite the clear and humongous power gap between Marco and Kizaru...now we have a literal example of a Yonko failing to defeat a high tier without taking hostages.

Yeah, the admiral wank can certainly make use of this humiliation.

Only difference here is: Kizaru was just trolling and Onigumo coincidentally helped him but the result wouldn't be different since a serious Kizaru would have destroyed Marco whereas Kaido was desperate and gravely injured.

I guess Kizaru can indeed take on 2 Yonko simultaneously. :kizabat:

@Jo_Ndule is right though, the feat of Oden didn´t nerv Kaido. He is still the dude who one shot Luffy with a single attack. Also Oda make it very clear with avoid to let Kaido use his hybird form. So he give him a cheapshot yet without really dehype him while Oden still has his insane hype. Like the way how Oda did it her though, both Oden and Kaido probably back then was mid top tiers lvl characters.

I don’t know when Akainu has ever shown real trolling tendencies, nor do I know what is unclear about “I’d let the one Admiral go stop the two Yonko if the Samurais’ strength weren’t unknown”, but what I do know is Akainu has already confirmed 1 Admiral = 2 Yonko (and really it’s been implied that 1 Admiral > 2 Yonko but I digress.)

All we know for sure is team Ndule has taken its thousandth and 1st L, and team Admiral takes another glorious win

Kaido isn't even stated to have ordered the dirty trick as the fight was going on.

Well Oda set it up. Oda gave Zoro Enma and then had another character comment that Zoro has the potential to surpass Oden by making the sword black.

This will no longer matter when Enma get broken or stolen and Zoro is definitively proven to not have the capability to surpass Oden. But until then, Oda is very clearly telling us something is going on
