Both looked even, which is what I was expecting oda to do. And of course the win/lose because of a reason other than who's more powerful. This is to be expected to be honest. I figured after last chapter that there was no way Oda isn't going to redeem Oden and just make him lose and also that he can't dehype Kaido just before the war where he is the main antagonist starts. The way the ending is written is what's best for the story, even though it is unsatisfying.
