Same here. When Zoro vs King happened - and it was such a great start - my expectations were really high but rushing the entire reveal + defeat in a single chapter is utter disappointment. Jack was off screened but I can't believe King's defeat triggered me more than that.

At least it's not lame healing flame. We already have that with Marco.

King is still mad strong. Even without his flame defense he still has his great zoan durability and his own strength. But it is not an overwhelming gimmick anymore. People can find ways around it, especially when king is attacking too, or moving, or caught off guard.

His defense is still linked to his flames and he did heal using fire. It's not easy to exploit King's defense actually. If he moves too fast then he becomes really hard to hit. And if he becomes slow, then he becomes damn near impossible to hurt even if you hit him. And it's not like his states become low-level or anything. He was fighting Marco in base with his flames on and apparently endured Zoro's COC attacks in his speed mode.

It's the direct opposite. You have to look at the strength of Zorro when he used those attacks.

When Zoro used Asura Dead Man Game, he was in a severely weakened state. While Zoro's new attack contains ACoC. The attack you use against King should be significantly stronger than the one who use against Kaido.

Both attacks contains ACOC, the difference is, one attack is a very high level Santoryu, another one is Asura which shits on Santoryu.
Kaido's still nr 1 durability beast currently.

Oda could literally reveal COC and awakening this chapter and then King's defeat at the next chapter. Would it truly kill him if he drew one more chapter? This dude has no issues drawing +50 chapters worth of running and unnecessary stalling while adding BS Tama subplots but when it comes to fights, he suddenly tries to rush everything. Honestly, what a joke.
