Powers & Abilities King's DF was pointless

Most of the time he's been in base.
His final, strongest attack he used in base.
He used Hybrid once, and it wasn't even in the main fight, but while he was still fighting with Queen.

Compared to a normal Zoan like Lucci, Jabra, Kaido... Who's Hybrid form is pretty much a straight upgrade to stats all accross the board, King is unique in that it seems he's the strongest at his base.
Maybe it's due to the fact that he'd rather use his sword than receive the Zoan benefits, maybe the weird Hybrid form is not worth the stat benefits, but at the end of the day the portrayal is obvious. King would much rather fight in his base, and treat his Zoan form like another set of abilities and attacks he can fall back on rather than rely on them entirely like we've seen time and time again.

Plus I mean, he can already fly just fine in base, so like a lot of the utility is lost there.

You just reminded me that another wasted potential was a King with four wings capable of generating fiery hurricanes with them, or flying with the feathery ones while the others serve as additional blades, and such.

King is tougher than dragons and probably diamond, is fast like Enel and Kizaru, has magma level moves like Akainu, he's a bunch of DFs in one, King's design and powerset with CoC coating would be a Godlike endgame opponent for Zoro, Oda wasted him as a FM.

How do you balance out god-like abilities? The dude is like Kaido, Kizaru and Akainu in one...

I may be sad that King doesn't have COC, or ultilize his haki, awakening.
But there's one thing I'm glad, is that King doesn't use his DF as often. Everytime King uses his DF, we got this "abomination"

As far as we know, the World Govt researched King, Kizaru, Kuma and Kaido. Guess what they did with that research? Vegapunk could make an artificial Dragon mythical zoan and Pacifistas modelled after Kuma, which use similar light based lasers as Kizaru.

That is massive portrayal - the Lunarian race-based durability/speed ability is as valuable as and placed on the same pedestal as the Dragon mythical Zoan and the Light Logia by the World Govt.

Sometimes I wonder if people actually read the manga

Throughout the Raid, King has been using his fruit heavily:

-To attack
-To dodge
-To gain mobility
-To defend himself

He shows a great mastery of it by:

-Using it in conjunction of his race ability
-Being able to alternate between Zoan form, hybrid and base in a way organic way. To a point where we don’t know what is his strongest from.

His last and strongest attack not using his fruit is irrelevant to the usefulness of the said fruit.
