Actually Usopp is being very contradictory/hypocritical here as Wiwi nicely pointed out later in the thread. It doesn't make sense for someone who idolises giants and Elbaf, for their Viking bravery and glory, to not fear death but to want to live and die gloriously and fight with all their might and with honour/honesty and such.
