Well look Luffy had already even after the rooftop fight this many chapter vs Kaido:
So after Luffy got drop in the Ocean, his new confrontation with Kaido started in chap 1025 (keep in mind that Luffy is fighting already for this many chapter okay?:

1025: Twin dragons - luffy combo attack with Yamato (2 panels)
1026: Turning point - Kaido&Luffy clash split the sky (6 panels)
1027: An unbelievable disaster - Luffy ask Yamato&Momo to leave still is fighting Kaido (4 panels)
1036: Bushido is the way of death (3 panels) (I am including King flashback for Kaido)
1037: "Shuron Hakke". (based on Kaido new drunk attack, similar to Queen Brachiusarus chapter)

From here on to 1036 we dont see the fight on the rooftop (maybe single panel)

But look the calamities fight chapter were this for QueenvsSanji:
1028 - Brachiusarus iss (almost full chapter)
1031 - soldier of science (not full chapter)
1034 - Sanji vs Queen (full chapter)

Based on this do you see that the Kaido vs Luffy didnt started like many fan think in chapter 1036 but back then in chapter 1025.
This mean that this fight has already 11 chapters, not a short one.
I think we we have max 1-2 fully chapter of Kaido vs Luffy and 4-6 chapters in which we have few panels of fight for KaidovsLuffy (around 5-6 panels maybe half chapter) in which we see other plots concluding.
Before the 2 fully chapter for Kaido vs Luffy, all the other plots will be over.
This fight is super long already (not in term of time but in term of chapters)
