Wano constitutes pure epicness. The gist of the rooftop fight, the whole war, the characters greatness, the growth of the SHs, the beautiful and fancy landscapes and characters. :finally:

I don't know how y'all think Wano is better than Dressrosa, when it suffers from the same problems on a bigger scale

For all of Dressrosa's issues, it at least had redeeming aspects like:
  • The characters of Doflamingo and Law, their backstory and dynamic
  • Fujitora
  • Gear 4
  • Good fights in general
Whereas Wano does not actually have a single redeeming quality for the absolute garbage of an arc that it is, especially for one that was built up for many years.
  • 2/3rd of the arc was the typical rehearsal of off sail to an island & learn its history trope that could have been summarized in few chapters
  • The amount of filler characters in here is even worse than Dressrosa
  • The villains suck; Kaido is a wasted potential, and merely serves as powerup device for Luffy, same for King to Zoro. Queen is a comedy relief and not a funny one at that, and Jack...just lol. None of the villains come close to Doffy or Katakuri
  • The Beast Pirates are fucking trash. Don't even understand the point of the point of Smile Fruits, when they all look goofy
  • The powerscaling inconsistencies and nonsense powerups in this arc is disgusting
  • Fake deaths
  • Bad fights

Wano takes the cake easily.

It's amazing to see such a mix in reception for the arcs. It just indicates that all of them were riddled with problems and a person's ranking depends on how much they weigh the positive vs negative.

For me it's Dressrosa > WCI > Wano

I tend to weigh the positive aspects as more important, because the better the good parts are, the less I get bothered by the bad. That being said:

- Dressrosa had the best when comparing all 3 in: antagonist, flashback, investment, balance of humour and emotion.

- The 1st part of WCI is not far behind, with probably the best single section (tea party).

- There's little that Wano does better than either of the others...and it's worst is the most unpalatable of the 3. Least interesting antagonists, least emotional investment, worst sidelining of Strawhats, least investment. It's all made worse by the fact that Wano is so unecessarily long on top of everything else. The only thing it may not be the worst in is pacing due to Dressrosa's running around and WCI's wedding cake.

In terms of individual aspects:
  • Luffy: WCI > Dressrosa > Wano
  • Strawhats' focus: Dressrosa > WCI > Wano
  • Antagonist: Dressrosa > WCI > Wano
  • Secondary characters: Dressrosa > WCI > Wano
  • Tension: WCI > Dressrosa > Wano (based on original reception of course, before everyone seemingly escaped WCI)
  • Emotion: Dressrosa > WCI > Wano
  • Pacing: WCI >= Wano = Dressrosa
I don't see that changing much at all at this point.

Dressrosa had Kyros so it was kino
Whole Cake had Katakuri

In my opinion people shit on One Piece daily via forums not because it's shit but because their lives are shit.

Damn they're all pretty good when you look at the whole picture lol. But WCI had the least interesting small group, and Sanji being just like one of the girls didn't help
