I bet, Oda was talking about beast pirates who turned sides.
They're gonna sacrifice themselves like Bon and his pals did in Alabasta,
kids are gonna cry. and everyone will say Wano's one of the best arcs in one piece.

That slavery plot is more cruel than killing characters. A few arcs back Oda still portrayed slavery as the worst thing ever and the only fate that makes even suicide acceptable and now he has an innocent child on the protagonists's side turn thousands of people into war slaves.
And this series is for children.
