I think some need to realize that Luffy's "punching" was almost maxed out even after Fishman Island. He just had mediocre Haki.

In Dressrosa, Oda didn't say "Luffy's punch isn't strong enough for Kaido". He said "I don't want Luffy to win just because his punch is so strong".

Yeah so he made Luffy's punch stronger by not making Luffy's punching force stronger but his Haki.

Even if queen didn't go for osome sanji still had enough time to locate him and finish him

But like you mentioned, overall combat = all stats.
