Oh woah, what happend in the void century being revealed will throw the world into turmoil? U don't need to be a prophet for that shit, man.
Anyway, this was basically 60 volumes in the series, I'd hardly consider that as being "always there".
What about that bit with crocus when he literally said: Are these the pirates we were waiting for, Roger? Roger as in the pirate King lol

he said "someone" never specified who
Are you kidding me?!?!

no I'm 100% sure it wasn't a prophecy, i read MF weekly so I vividly remember going over chapters for hours back in hs

Only if you are a Law/Kidd fanboy.
Luffy took TWO YEARS out to train, then he decided to take on a YC1 on home territory, fighting him at his strongest to learn his ability and grow past him.
His willpower is second to none, and his charismatic words freaked out freaks like Ace, Sabo and Shanks.

Luffy is built different, both from destiny/birth, and his own choices.
oh trust me I understand luffy was born into the world already carrying a certain destiny and already accredited with certain prophecies.

I do like kidd wouldn't call myself a fanboy, law a lot less but I like luffy a lot more than either.
kidd and law approaching the level luffy has ( ofc not being equal) without being born different , with a certain destiny or as gifted genetically is what makes them 10 times more relatable to anyone.

personally not a fan of just about everyone bending over for the wishes of the mc character. a hallmark of chosen one narratives that is beginning to wear thin on me . rather unfortunate oda has taken this route imo.
