It seems there is still a definite plotline for Zoro with all the panels that he has been getting after defeating King, compared to Sanji (don't bring the toxicity please it is a simple comparison) who was shown getting treatment, Zoro has gotten some weird panels, firstly with the Grim Reaper thing and now falling off Onigashima.
The anime opening which is known for spoiling some things showed that purple beam over a residential area and which is most likely the flower capital. Some thought that it would be Kid's latest attack (which it might still be) but the current attack did not go all way down to Wano, BM is freefalling, and that it was not over the Flower Capital.
People keep criticizing the manga but Oda has even so late made it difficult to predict what happens next, there are still plotlines that need to be addressed, on one hand we expect Luffy to defeat Kaido now that BM has been defeated by Kid and Law, however the damage required to do that is Kid and Law using their awakenings and ultimate techniques and still falling short and to really put an end to her Oda drops a nuke on her when she falls in the crater below.

zoro is dying hallucinating and shit, and people still think he'll kill kaido, 
right now the best thing yall can do is to wish zoro wont die, cause if he did die, Law was the one who will be the one in trouble .

Zoro still has a role to play in wano. Oda has already showed he’s willing to use plot to heal the straw hats in a war already so I don’t think Zoro falling off the island shows anything.
I still don’t think its ZKK and I think after seeing Kid and Laws “victory” over big mom its clear that Oda won’t let anyone but Luffy get the last hit on Kaido
