It has already been said in Newgate's Vivre Card that he was already the strongest even before Roger's death. That doesn't mean Roger would never beat Newgate, but it does mean that if they fought countless times, Newgate would win more.

The same goes for Shanks and Mihawk. Databook Red says Shanks once had the ability to compete with the strongest swordsman before he lost his arm and Mihawk's Vivre Card says he looks forward to the day when there will be a stronger swordsman than Shanks to fight.

And we come to Luffy who has almost Father to Son and Grandson parallels with Roger and Shanks. Luffy has already stated that he wants to be the Pirate King to be the freest person and not the strongest, the same definition we see in Shanks' Vivre Card that says he is the closest to the Pirate King these days.

And now I leave the question for you, do you think that Luffy will be the strongest or will there be someone stronger than him?

Do you think he could end up defeating Im with someone else's help and not alone?

Looking at Kid and Law and their accomplishments, do you think he will have a rival like Newagte was to Roger?

I don't think anyone will be really equal to luffy eos


Law is the closest thing to a Whitebeard of the new generation given his bond with luffy but narrative wise oda is clearly putting luffy above him, same goes for Kidd

Luffy will basically end up being swordless Shanks with the perks of the awakened gomu gomu no mi, which in turn will most likely end up being one of, if not the strongest body transforming DF type, so yes, he will probably become the strongest guy in the verse.

It could be possible but for me it will undermine Luffy's PK title
If BB is the strongest it means Luffy didn't beat his biggest rivals for the PK Title
If you said Im I think it will be more likely

Why is Kaido the strongest creature but not the strongest pirate?
These titles do not matter. The characters have to prove themselves to us in the fight

No it's not. Roger and WB used to be rivals that fight each other multiple times. Luffy isn't doing it with him.

Closest thing to Roger x WB relantionship is Luffy x Katakuri or Luffy x Kaido.

Roger and WB didn't fight that much and it was never serious battles

Law is considered one of luffy's rivals plus he is on friendly terms with him just like WB was with Roger


Kaido and katakuri are opponents that respect him, they're not friends
