Oh no, the Gomu Gomu really is the special fruit the Gorosei were talking about, isn't it? If that's the case I think it's gonna be my least favorite decision by Oda in the whole manga so far. I loved the idea of the Gomu Gomu being a relatively lame fruit that is only goated because Luffy is very creative with it. It showed that even an "uncool" DF could be massive if it had the right user. This could really take away from that, and I personally hate it (even if I know this is standard Shonen stuff)

Enjoy your Child of Prophecy a la Naruto :milaugh:

luffy will hit hard physically and mentally kaido is in wano surely because he knows joy boy has to go there to accomplish something.

the fact that kaido is an awakened form is sure and certain but that doesn't change the fact that luffy will smash his dreams his mind and his body.
yes luffy will beat up kaido but the argument i said is still valid literally go back to 795 and re read how many times kaido has been defeated, captured, imprisoned, tortured nun of this lead to him giving up completely and turning away nun of this lead to him being broken mentally and giving up just because luffy will beat kiado does not mean kaid will just say oh well i give up bye now u win

To people saying destiny in One Piece has always been the case, I think it’s worth pointing out that there is a meaningful difference between:

1) someone laying out a puzzle for you to solve + you connecting the dots/fulfilling the requirements

2) being guided by literal destiny and fate aka predeterminism

I would argue that this is an important distinction and that whereas 1) has always been here, 2) is clearly a new development in the story.

Luffy will awake his df against blackbeard but we will learn more about the gum gum no mi oda would not intrudes such stuff without going deeper in the topic

Yep.

There’s a difference between following the path of someone who came before you and being guided by literal fate.

Just because Luffy has always been portrayed as the one Roger was waiting for with themes of inherited will does not mean Luffy has always been marked as being guided by literal fate.

This is purely a new development in the story and anyone who says otherwise is bugging out.

It's mostly damage control from Oda apologists
