I read through 970. theres a LOT to take in from it, I have a feeling what is being referred to by the hints is something subtle rather than major though.

We have Yasuie, Toki, Oden, Ashura, Shinobu, Momo, Hiyori all promiment in this chapter amongst others ofc.

I might have some parts out of order here as I had to re-take a screenshot of one, but yeah, feel free to analyse these and try and see what @ScotchInformer was referring to:

Luffy credibility? He’s not the strongest character in the series therefore Kaido needs to be protected more

I want the arc to be over but let’s be honest Luffy cannot just beat Kaido right away. He needs more help and another form

He already had 16 people help and powerups. And Kaidou is nerfed significantly. If Luffy can't beat Kaidou after all this bullshit, he might as well quit and go back to east blue. New world is not for fodders like him. Kid and Law defeated fresh bigmom even when they are not fresh, so it is a problem for you guys relatively fresh Luffy defeating nerfed Kaidou.
