That’s the result of throwing Big Mom in this arc where she wasn’t needed and didn’t fit.
She’s been treated like a sideshow to Kaido and went down like just another of his subordinates. Dealt with before the main fight actually begins.
That’s fine for King et al because they are actually Kaido‘s subordinates. But Big Mom is meant to be his contemporary. She’s meant to be Whitebeard’s contemporary. Those two get full arcs devoted to their fall, Big Mom gets dealt with as a sidequest to Kaido’s defeat.
Too powerful to be a proper opponent in WCI and not relevant enough on Wano to get the screentime she deserved in beating her. One of Oda’s big missteps has to be that other than a few odd chapters he’s never correctly utilised Big Mom.

I’m glad this is happening because prior to this arc he was hyped to be the strongest in the world and through most of the raid I was beginning to feel like he was nigh equal to Big Mom. For awhile I couldn’t understand what made him so much more special, glad to know Kaido was merely holding back till now, still waiting for his awakening.
