Just like the title says, do you think One Piece is a top 3 manga? Compare it to its contemporaries, predecessors, successors, etc. Shonen/seinen, everything is welcomed.

My favourite ever is Dragon Ball for how intense the fighting stances were and how entrancing the overall plot and characters were but that doesn't make it necessarily the best Shonen manga ever from other standpoints.

When it comes to world building One Piece seems much more better for its complexity and beauty.

One piece is unbeatable in terms of world building with so many factions, nations, races, cultures, and characters. But even this, im a bit worried by how Oda will play them out in the end, as we can cleary see that he is all over the place and force things out in Wano.

Story wise, it is good but it keeps getting worse. We cant also turns blind eye that the lenght of the manga isn't really make it great since the dragging is too obvious.

The gags also become too repetitive, I havent really laugh by reading one piece for a very long time.

In conclusion, Im not that bold to say that one piece is a top 3 manga

No, One Piece cannot be put on a list because it is so unbelievably above everything else in existence that it doesn't make sense to put it into a "top whatever" manga/anime list.

One Piece is the best thing mankind has ever and will ever create, OP is the meaning of life.

it's not in my top 10 personally, but taste is subjective.

I talk for myself and i'll rank it among the mangas i've read/watched... i think yes its Top 3, consistently of the manga is really good MC with good portrayal of freedom, good main cast and side characters with their own goods and bads i like how they are not perfect. Villains can be kinda meh, but some intersting ones too, as much as i know it has one of the best themes also, story arc is really good imo, power system is bad and inconsistent as hell sometimes annoys me, i cant judge art and paneling tbh, i dont pay attention to it, world building is amazing does need my opinion on it, fights are meh, sometimes really good.
thats my overall opinion on One piece and for me its Top 3 manga.

Depends on how much value you put into different aspects of a manga, narratively One Piece has dropped quite significantly, in some aspects on the other hand it belongs to the best of the best, already mentioned in the other thread.
Since most people put the most emphasis on narrative, with art coming a close second, most would not put OP that high up.

I will say this…

critically and writing wise it’s not top 3
As there are waaaay too many well written stories that has surpassed One Piece in terms of writing…

HOWEVER,
Entertainment wise, it’s Top 3 for sure for me…

for the fact it’s the series I enjoy the most reading compared to other series

This is also manga wise…

if it’s anime wise, I would say it’s number 4… after Gintama, Hajime no Ippo, Bleach…

My personal opinion is that story-wise, One Piece has its own unique signature, the joy, the simplicity, the motivation, and even, the politics involved in it. Furthermore, the fact alone that One Piece has a loyal fan base for over 20 years speaks for itself. The end of course will play an important role, but One Piece has already immersed us into a profound "philosophy" which is where any author's/ artist's ultimate aim and greatest achievement lies.

In conclusion, in my opinion, One Piece is one of the best stories ever written.
