While the scenarios are abit different ( transformation vs "new devil fruit") raging without an explanation from the author doesn't make sense. If the explanation is trash then fine Oda deserves it.

Can´t deny to be absolutely hyped by those spoilers =)
Was really shocked at the end of the last chapter and wasn´t sure if I would like what was about to come but I should have trusted Oda in the first place. Yeah, there might still be room for some more explanation about the devil fruit and it´s awakening but on the other hand it was a pretty genious idea planned out a long time ago. Clearly prefer this instead the whole Joyboy reincarnation theory, Luffy should still be Luffy when he (likely) finally defeats Kaido, he should achieve this by himself if he wants to become pirate king. Also the story is about to get more and more interesting from this on, I´m personally fond about how things are developing.

Do still understand that fan reactions will be quite mixed about this.

Zoro can´t be dead by the way, for the sake of Zorobin, he can´t be!

Its not the df. Its the idea. Luffy was supposed to have a goofy power which he used in his own creative way to beat his enemies, oda himself said this.
