The "people" eating this shit up are pathetic.
So the top brass gave the hito hito no mi mythical zoan fruit a fake name as the gomu gomu no mi. They then sent a top agent to guard said fruit and the fruit gets stolen.
Why didn't they order literally every other CP agent to keep their eyes and ears open for ANYONE who displayed rubber-like powers? They were quick to put a bounty on Ribin simply for being able to read the poneglyphs, so why didn't they put a super high bounty, possibly in the billions, on Luffy when he become known on the world stage after Alabasta, where he was confirmed to have these powers? Why didn't they send one of the three admirals or any CP agents right then and there?
Either Oda just pulled this mythical fruit out of his ass recently or he just wrote the gorosei to be absolutely fucking retarded.

Well, I brought up a being that appears to be a demon, that has horns and even a club in its hand, it's up to you to prove that their horns are fake.
But I recommend you read chapter 1025, where yamato is referred to as a demon princess, and kaido is actually an Oni and that in the fictional world of One Piece there appears to have been a race of ONIS.
