It'd be really weird if Oda retconned its paramecia status, or the fact that Luffy is rubber. Those are staples of his power and character.

It obviously can't be a logia, because logias are producers from the get go. It can't be a Zooan, because Zooan awakening has nothing to do with the environment. He's obviously going for the Doflamingo/Katakuri type of awakening, not some Zooan transformation/recovery or whatever.

Maybe all he's doing is changing the name. Fujitora's DF is not named "Gravity Gravity no Mi". Jozu's DF is not named "Diamond Diamond no Mi". Maybe this is just the "Bounce Bounce" fruit or something.

Also it'd be weird since all of Luffy's moves started with "Gomu Gomu", and his number is 56 "GoMu".

It was clear that Luffy was always going to "affect the environment". Oda had that planned since Dressrosa and WCI.

But now he's also given a Zooan transformation.

Kaido: seeing that the rubber is starting to affect the surrounding.. pant pant...It should be safe to assume that... It's the awakening of paramecia fruit
But... Something's off
That kind of "transformation" should be a zoan exclusive!

It seems Oda wants to have his cake and eat it too and is writing himself into a corner. Every justification from now will be "it's a ridiculous power".
