If Luffy is the one who will open the borders (or at least heavily contributes to this) the statement from 968 doesn't make much sense.

The problem remains if Momo is JB instead.

Possible solution: based on the recent chapter -whoever it is doesn't matter- this person has YET TO BECOME a "Joy Boy" (as it was in quotation marks in Japanese also), whatever it implies, maybe fullfilling the Will of D..

But what we know is that Oden wanted to Re-Open Wano before Joy Boy Appears

Meaning that when Joy Boy returns, "Something" will happen & Wano needs to be Open for that thus Oden's Statement
It's not a Contradiction if Joy Boy also helps Re-Open Wano

Even if Luffy is Joy Boy, it doesn't mean he is doing what Joy Boy is meant to do since Birth
For now, Luffy hasn't become Joy Boy yet, so Wano still have time to Open

In other words:

Luffy reached Wano ---> Luffy helps Re-Open Wano ---> Luffy becomes Joy Boy & Fulfill his Prophecy whatever it is
This way, Wano will indeed be Open before Joy Boy

I'm more and more inclined to believe that Joy Boy was an actual guy from the Void Century and whomever he is now isn't actually him, but a descendant, not necessarily by blood (maybe). But a descendant of the D. nonetheless.

I feel like Oden wanted that because it wasn’t guaranteed that Joyboy would have someone capable of reading the poneglyphs so opening wano up to allow then to meet someone who could guide Joyboy to Raftel was important to him. (That was probably going to be Momonosukes destiny if not for Kaido)

Possibly, yes. But I have some doubts that Luffy may actually not be Joy Boy due to Kaido's statement "you couldn't be Joy Boy either," if that turns out to be any sort of foreshadow. If that turns out to be the case, Joy Boy could be someone we have already seen but never thought of him/her like that. Luffy is still the prime candidate though.

I think he is not Joy Boy, Joy Boy was probably the man possessing the hit Im is preserving.

I would bet on him being Nika however which is not a concept perhaps related to Joy Boy. 🤔

My point is that Joy Boy's Role isn't exclusive or reliant to defeating Kaidou only, something gonna happen when Wano is opened

And btw, Luffy ate DF of Joy Boy, doesn't mean there isn't a Real Joy Boy of this Time
