General & Others General Anime Thread

Hey guys! I made a new One Piece anime edit inspired by the recent revelations about the drums of liberation!

Please let me know your thoughts! thanks :)

lets see what the episode has in store. The PV was definetly very reserved
Yes, but also no.

It was reserved in the sense there wasn't a lot of over the top movement, but if peoples suspicions that the Yamato scene from this episode is actually from Soty in 1015, then that sort of shows what to expect. I expect there to be a lot of really subtle and intricate character acting that helps bring it together, and that was on full display in the NEP.

I'm mainly saying they held back because the PV didnt spoil any of the fight scenes and it kept what it showed to stills or subtle short cuts of character acting only

Yeah, but also, there was some truly excellent character acting in the NEP. It looked much livelier(and just better generally) than even the small preview we got for Film Red.

I'm unsure how much the animation for film red will be polished up, but its still a very impressive feat considering both NEP's were mainly concerned with showing off some small bits and pieces of character acting.

Film red trailer looked ass.

Yeah, it looked visibly unfinished in some areas. The compositing in particular was just not that good.

It had hints of nice stuff here and there (Luffy running at the screen with gear 3rd), but thats sort of to be expected.
The direction wasn't impressive either. Taniguchi instance...
At least no CG monster (hopefully)

Yeah. Stampede was more fun before the CGI monster(Bullet beating the crap out of the worst generation was a really cool beat down, its almost kind of comical that he was already beating up the entire worst generation but decided to power up more anyway lol) and the sky turned everything freaking red.

I'm not too familiar with the director. Does he have a positive reputation for work based on the actual strength of the direction, or is it more fandom and content stuff?

Taniguchi did Code Geass which was his last (and imo only) hit. He recently did Back Arrow which was a big miss.

I'm not terribly familiar with Code Geass, but my impression of it is that its not terribly sophisticated directorially. Would I be correct on that front?
Its not exactly possessing a particularly stand out cinematic vision or language.

I cant comment on that tbh. I watched it yeeaaars ago. All i can say from this trailer is that it looks very uninspired and... frankly lame
