Questions & Mysteries Why did Sasuke still fight Naruto after the war

#4
why did he want to become the supreme ruler, is it not stupid that he wanted to stop Madara from becoming supreme ruler and labeling him as a bad guy when he had the same motive
Don’t remember exactly how it was phrased but from what I remember he was going to take Madara’s place, do practically the same thing, except in his eyes he was going to do it better.

I guess it was ok for him as long as he wasn’t being controlled/ruled by someone else.

How to put it… Him and Naruto basically had clash of ideals for peace.
Sasuke thought that to be able to achieve peace in the world, a supreme ruler (dictator) was required, which would be him in that case since without Naruto, Bijuus or Kages, no one would be strong enough to stand up to him and question his decisions.
Naruto thought forgiveness and ending the cycle of hatred was the key to peace.

I think you guys missed the point.

Sasuke didn't want to become a ruler because he thought he was better than everybody.

He wanted to become an "evil" dictator so that he would be the target of all the hatred in the world, all the villages and shinobi would only hate him.

And because he was alone, had nothing, he would be able to bear that hatred.

With everyone only hating him, they would all become allies and live in peace.

He was inspired by Itachi, because to him Itachi was the true Hokage. He took on the Uchiha preparing to betray the leaf and killed them, then became a villain in the eyes of Konoha, only so that nobody would have to go to war and no ninja in the leaf would hate the Uchiha / Sasuke for it.

I didn't really read/watch naruto completely, so I was wondering why naruto and sasuke still had to fight after defeating kaguya
Basically what pain wanted to do, kill all kages and tailed beasts and create fear and take all the haterd toward himself, so he ends the cycle of haterd, by basically sacraficing himself.
And to do that, he needed to eliminate his only friend so he doesnt have sympathy/emtions towards anybody, he'd become the haterd itself.

Sasuke thought the leadership of the world was of fault while madara thought that the very idea of a leader and non leaders was corrupt. He hated the world for allowing the duality of the vanished and victors.
Sasuke's view and madara were quite different

madara wanted equality and so to archive that he looked for the infinite tsuyomi which would put everyone in a dream allowing everyone to live as they would so want. Making everyone perfectly happy and destroying the vanished class making everyone winners of their own world. Obito being with the underaged girl that he never got over that being rin and madara being with hashirama who rejected him over him going psychotic. Everyone could live as they like even sasori could live in a world where his parents were not pierced by the hatake's blade as he would also be had he faced kakashi.

Sasuke wanted power so he could rule better then those in the past who had killed and betrayed those for their own gain as what happened with his brother itachi who he at this point practically worshipped.

I guess it was ok for him as long as he wasn’t being controlled/ruled by someone else.
Wrong character, that's aizen

I dont care about my best interests. I just wanna eliminate all who can oppose me

Sasuke hated what was done to his brother
he would never inflict the same fate on himself

Both of their ideas are at fault imho. Sasuke’s would be an even worse case since more people would turn to and sympathize with organizations like Kara. On the other hand, Naruto’s ideal of peace is overly optimistic and failed in practice. Villages like Amegakure, Takigakure etc. are still not open to the outside world and they bred the ideal ground for terrorist groups such as Kara. Plus, having too much power on two people (Naruto and Sasuke) caused non-sincere cooperation with other villages due to the fear since Konoha basically had two nukes on their hands.
The show has shown us three version of peace. One is Madar/Obito’s version based upon false peace that would never exist. Other one is Sasuke’s version of peace that was based on hatred and was doomed to fail sooner or later. The final one is Naruto’s version of ideal peace which failed in practice.
