Kozaburo and Koshirou have VERY different views of what it means to be a swordsman, which imo serves as evidence that the "way of the sword" or whatever you wanna call it isn't objective. It's different for everyone. There's no reason someone who wants to wield their sword hectically and wildly can't be considered a swordsman. Hyouzou in FMI was a swordsman, and half of the time he was just drunkenly running around and slashing random stuff

Oh yeah if someone considers themselves a swordsman than they are a swordsman. Kaku considered himself a swordsman despite using his legs as two of his swords.

However, we also have people who use swords who aren’t swordsman.

what he is trying to say however is the pinnacle of swordsmanship or the blackblade as seen with mihawk
is pretty much not a relevant way to scale these characters
cause guess what roger didnt have to make one and is def a stronger "yes swordsman " than mihawk .


to the shanks argument they havent fought in 12 + years
and shanks keeps getting top notch portrayal from kaido himself
a lot of room for fans to speculate and seeing roger who fights with a sword and is prob just a guy with an abnormal willpower (just like shanks) gives the room to speculate .
