Both are childish games and cartoons, but at least there's a lot more creativity in pokemon designs than in that bunch of human-shaped machines that basically all digimon's end up becoming.
Also, the fact that digimon occurs in some kind if virtual dimension with those creatures speaking like they had a conscience despite just being a bunch of 1 and 0's gives me some uncanny valley feeling;
At least pokemons are supposed to exist in Pokemon universe, and aren't just a bunch of holograms made by computer.
