Nah I don't see this about powerscalling as well.
But for me the Mera Mera no Mi must overcome the Magu Magu no Mi.

Luffy is already strong enough to protect whoever he wants, he is literally protecting an entire country right now of the Strongest Creature in the World.
Narratively at least for me it would he more meaningful that someone as powerful as Luffy could still be protected by his Nakama.

But I see where you are coming from and it is also a good idea. I just would love the Mera Mera no Mi to surpass the Magu Magu.

I agree that Luffy now is much stronger and can basically protect anybody, he's proving it but i'm talking from the psychological side . I don't think the way Oda portrayed Luffy (grinding his teeth and touching his scar) when Jinbe mentionned Akainu's name was random, he's clearly still affected by what happened even after 2 years. So I believe it needs a proper closure, and Luffy succesfully protecting his brother this time is a pretty good one.
I see the appeal of the "inferior" fruit surpassing the "superior" fruit, especially with the whole Ace inherited will thing, it would be a bit like Ace beating Akainu, too. Not really arguing that
I simply disagree with the notion of Sabo's existence killing Akainu x Luffy. Sabo offers another alternative that isn't Luffy x Akainu, yes but he can also be used to make Luffy vs Akainu more than a simple revenge story by making it a redemption one instead that's it.

Okay I am glad you admit Butchering a YC1 is greater feat than blocking a combined attack from two emperors which according to both emperors would have wiped out all 5 supernovas and made post Ryou Luffy who wrecks Katakuri shit his pants.

And I am glad you think Overwhelming King is a greater feat than Permanently scarring the most durable character with 30 broken bones and CoA only where as Luffy who defeated Katakuri couldn't even tickle Kaido.

Now one wind scythe Zoro wrist flicks, YES FLICKS WITH HSI WRIST without releasing Enma.
A named signature move Oni Giri, without Releasing his Haki through Enma did Zero damage to Kaido yet Zoro can casually overwhelm a Wind Scythe.

So No CoA over use Oni Giri >>>> Wind Scythe.

Now comes CoA release Tatsumaki
