This arc is Oden's
Kaido was just another guy lol
The whole arc was either about how great was Oden or how to beat Kaido for Oden sake

Oda tried new approaches :
BM : 3-4 chapters worth of flashbacks mid arc
Kaido : a bit of flashbacks here and there
If we can combine all, we can get 1-2chapters worth of flashbacks

Reminder we saw Kaido in Oden's flashbacks too. In shinobi , samurai , and yamato flashbacks too
