Both Kaidou and Luffy are already way too much stronger than Oden at this point lol, Kaidou being scared of Oden is already an absurdity at this point, like a mental disease of a super strong guy being a scaredy cat of someone much much weaker but having an act of being courageous lol.

Tbf it could be a mix of two things. One Oden is among the few who actually permanently wounded him (with a single attack, too), and he also never got to finish his fight with him, so it might be a little bit of trauma tied to it. Still, yeah Luffy is clearly shown to be stronger than Oden, because at least he's able to fight even when someone interfered

I think so yeah, the Wano Citizens still need to come to term with Momo's dragon form and he needs to show them that not all Dragons are evil

Usually the defeat box narration comes the chapter after the final hit for Luffy's villains i think
