The entire Wano storyline started with Punk Hazard, almost a decade ago.

With hyped up Supernovas, Gifters, Numbers, CP-0 agents, mystic Samurai that were feared by the WG and 2 Yonko crews that almost all turned out to be major disappointments.

With a joke of a Meme Emperor who has been a cheap plot device ever since: Hunger pains, mothering mode, amnesia with naive people still thinking she will somehow get her great moment in Elbaf.

With wasted character dynamics and interactions ever since: Momo and Zoro, the Scabbards, the Strawhats...

With mostly wasted unsatisfying strawhat fights after all years of waiting, especially the Tobi Roppo "fights"...

With disappointing outcomes of cliffhangers: the ending of WCI with Jinbei appearing just so again, Fake Oden....

With hollow characters: Yamato, the Scabbards again (remember Ashura Doji in act 2 being an interesting character?), Toki, Hiyori (Komurasaki was way better), Kanjuro, Denjiro/Kyoushiro...

With cheap plot devices that helped the strawhats out: Big Meme, Tama (I don't care if it's a reference to the Momotaro legend), Ice Onis, CP-0 agents...

With Zoro haunting the spirit and will of Ryuma my ass...

With Zoro having somehow a connection with the Shimotsuki bloodline with Oda not going into the details and without establishing a personal bonding for Zoro to Wano at all which is more than weird (no wonder people stick to ZKK)...

With the ongoing issue of fake deaths since Arabasta still continuing...

With no real struggle, no drama, no tension, with Kaido gifting Luffy with Power ups over and over again...

As a result, given its place in the story, Wano is mid, remove Roof Piece and nothing much is left (The other real good stuff occured outside of the Wano storyline, don't be stupid LOL).

I did not read 1049 spoilers but I am confident it will confirm our hope out of this misery: #YEAROFKAIDO

Wano is the arc with the best plot, story, construction of the entire One Piece. I liked everything about Wano. I have nothing to criticize Oda. It was totally perfect.

I'm giving it a 6.5/10 regardless of how Luffy vs Kaido ends. Didn't live up to the hype but wasn't 100% terrible either. There were no badass samurai and too many plot conveniences. Luffy's power-scaling and recoveries were too aggressive.

A lot of wasted panel time on the Oden/Scabbard shit. Zoro and Nico Robin should have had FARRRRRRRRRRRR greater importance, but no we need to keep wasting panels on fodder panicking scenes, Momo, Otama, and shitty Smiles. I wanted deep storytelling with Robin and the history of Wano/Poneglyphs/CPO and with Zoro and the samurai. We got none of that.

Luffy literally broke a bunch of rocks in Udon and ate some meat and all of a sudden he can fight Kaido. After getting curb-stomped by Katakuri by the way. So if Luffy can do all this he was already Yonko level essentially back in Punk Hazard. FOH with that shit. We got some great stuff on the roof though, Zoro vs King, and a solid Luffy/Kaido fight. The arc could and should have been so much better but Oda has lost his focus and wants to showcase a million side characters.

That was just another big waste of time and fanservice that should have been spent on the main fights that are important to the story be able to move forward

But we also got shit like Tama being important in the war, which shouldn't have happened, and many other stuff that could classify as waste of panels

One Piece Anime has never been better than the manga and it just keeps getting worse. If you want to completely ruin Wano for yourself, watch the anime.
Not at all, the wano anime is the superior version, extended scenes + epic animation, look at luffy's entrance on the roof, the manga is average at best but the anime can expand things more and this is only why wano will be considered good

Oda should plan better beforehand and not change plotlines and add elements on a whim because of his obsession with unpredictability.
