Character Discussion Kaido betrayed Rocks

#24
He never got betrayed himself. Him doing betrayal is meh and only talks about him not in general
We as a community all came up with two options when this panel was first shown

1. in Kaido’s backstory, we are gonna see him get betrayed

2. big mom is gonna betray Kaido in this war when he starts losing

this panel was too specific to go nowhere

And since both options above no longer seem possible, Oda is introducing an interesting third option, What if Kaido is the betrayer himself

whether you believe it or not, this panel must go somewhere and this seems the most likely outcome given this Big mom panel

Kaido was wise. I would have never risked my life for such a lost cause. Maybe he foresaw a great future for himself and didn't want to risk to ruin everything.

@Echizen_Jo_Ndule So the dialogue that’s in the same Panel as Big saying Kaido is a bitch has nothing to do with this

you think the dialogue about the rocks pirates losing because they had internal conflict has nothing to do with Big saying Kaido ran away and is a bitch ass pussy
The dialogue has to do with kaido dipping her
We know she saved him
We also know she already said "don't rely on Rocks " when she met kaido for the first time
She wouldn't be mad at kaido for betraying Rocks when they themselves would fight against themselves

Kaido’s line about “Pirates will abandon you when they think you’ll lose” means what then?

Surely a pirate at sometime must have abandoned a person during a battle of some kind when they saw that person was gonna lose

The idea that this whole big mom and Kaido business have nothing to do with God valley doesn’t answer Kaido’s dialogue above about betrayal happening in some battle

Everyone thinks it's whitebeard but he'd never betray his own crew.
I think it's less to do with betrayal rather WB deciding to leave the crew due to Ethics. I can see something very unethical happening on that island 37 years back that Roger and Garp had to join hands, even though Garp hate CDs to the very core and had been chasing Roger all his life. In such scenario WB deciding to be not part of that anymore stands more with his character than otherwise.

Also this crew was not WB family, instead it was opposite to everything he wanted that's why he had a dream to make his own family afterwards. This crew consisted of Criminals that didn't hesitate to kill their own which went against WB principles.

He must have seen several times alliances to defeat Yonko end up in betrayal. Hawkins and Apoo betray Kidd, Teach betray WB, Oden betray WB, Jinbe betray BM, Capone betray BM, he abandon BM, several times he converted newbies to his pack and witnessed betrayals

Think Rocks defeat of course happend because of a betray, but to me will be the whole crew betraying Rocks, the only one not being Kaido, seems like this whole trauma on having a glorious death that he have is because of how Rocks died.

And youre stuck on the idea that the panel of Kaido talking about betrayal will mean nothing in the story for some reason

he betrayed big mom not rocks is my conclusion from that
she gave him the df with the stipulation they would meet up later but he was a no show.
@LANJI CUCKSMOKE So where does the first panel where Kaido says “pirates will abandon you when they see you are losing” come in

That was the first hint that a betrayal happened and its established that the betrayal happened during some kind of battle similar to the Onigashima raid

So if the betrayal is simply about a DF then what is kaido even talking about?

Can't you see your conflict ideas?

How can Kaido at same time be a bitch that betray others but be that loyal to Big Mom?

He wasn't the one who betrayed Rocks. Was probably Big Mom that's why he hate her but also own her because she saved his life.
