Kaido used his own powers to do that. Luffy can be burned but he doesn't burn himself doing red hawk. What is this shit looool
Different case.
When Luffy used the fire attacks, he coated his burning fists with haki.

See? Luffy's fist is covered with haki when he did fire based attack. Luffy is never completely immune to fire.

While Kaido nor King didn't use fullbody haki when they used their magma dragon attack. Kaido and King have at least 90% magma resistance.

He already stated that the one to defeat him will be joyboy , he only got captured to eat , he searched for a place to die , tho i dont think dying to marines is something he would've liked
Who cares how he was captured it doesn't have anything to do with the fact he survived 40 death sentences and over 1,000 torture matters while receiving a single scar.

Kaido doesn't want to die anywhere he wants to be killed in battle because he believes that is what completes a person. That's why he was disappointed when they Scabbards couldn't kill him.

Luffy beat him but unfortunately just another person who failed to kill him. If Kaido is killed by the magma than the magma killed him not Luffy. There's no reason for Kaido to stop fighting and give up on life just because he met another person who could defeat him but not kill him. It is already happened seven other times. He will consider Joyboy just another opponent that can't kill him.

Kaido dangerous people value and work in battle. If Joyboy can't kill him then information he thought about Joyboy based on what he either heard or read doesn't meet his expectations.

Imo the only problem with the ending was oda no pun intended stretching the final attacks as long as possible to make it hit 1050
If it ended faster it probably wouldn't feel as weird. Even a reread once the arc is over should make those last few chapters way more enjoyable and easier to enjoy
Kaido not awakening is not a problem for you?

I don't think we will ever see a Strawhat straight up execute someone on panel.
Oda can't bring himself to have them say they will kill their enemies and already said that's why Luffy and the crew always says they are gonna beat them up or kick their ass...

Now executing an already dying and weak Kaido would look straight up bad whatever way Oda chooses to do it, would be pathetic for Zoro as well.
It depends on context. If Kaido is looking to die purposefully, and he's already "dying" due to being submerged in magma, and he's also trying to destroy the capital as a last Hail Mary (to in fact, die), then I can see it as a possibility. It wouldn't really be disrespectful imo.

But yes, Oda has never had anyone straight up kill a major villain before, so it would be unprecedented (and why I also doubt it's happening). Just personally keeping an open mind on it
