I understand this point, the same about the armors. But I think it's just Nami's fashion choice to keep wearing the kimono. The armor is for protection for her and Zeus. As for the armors with Usopp, Franky, Chopper, they find them to be cool and badass because they're children lol So they're not doing it to hide anymore.
