observing how fandoms operate on wg I have come to realize most have a clear structure
the zoro and sanji fandoms here on wg for example
you have the ring leaders in chrono and nik
whose job is to spew all kinds of biased opinions/narratives as "facts "
then you have the muscle guys like ha001 and wildfire kaios who go around aggressively mowing down opposing counter arguments .
you ofc have a couple perhaps lacking something fundamental in stealthblack and monsterx
and finally the fairly rational ones like rayanoo and conquistador.

epithet here doesn't mean what the person is also known as.. whats being told here is epithet as in quality.. if you look it up.
this pertains to what luffy said initially
"Samurai are strong" and to that Kaido replied the quotation aforementioned.
"So which one are you" kaido says
a Victor who gets known by his name.. or a loser who needs boasts his epithet ie: quality like strength
Kaido means something very profound here..
its either your name carries your qualities or you're a loser enough to boast it.
similarly "Shirohige" was a name that didn't need a description... people knew what that name entails.
Kaido was literally insulting the samurai here.. but its his radical philosophy.. its only in victory and defeat one's worth is determined.. only in war things become Level.. and losers don't get to boast.
