I would say that Tama looks like a better candidate for joining the strawhats, since she has the sad backstory and has actually interacted with the strawhats all throught the arc, unlike Yamato who is only just now meeting them.
I can see Yamato joining them, but only after she gets more development.

But why does it look like something really big is about to happen in next few chapter

Because Kaido‘s defeat was a little anti-climactic.

Also usually the Marines are there at the end of such arcs to ruin the party.

Idk why people expect some "grandiose" fuck fest when the climax of the arc is already past.
These chapters are meant to be more chilling and simply deal with remaining issues and plotlines.
So far, last chapter and this one have been doing just that. I'm very satisfied with it.
I know people meme with Lance's "amazing double spreads", and that I hate Wano as a whole, but it's clear as day, at least for me, that Oda ENJOYS drawing this arc. From the grandiose double spreads, to the ridiculous Gifters. He legit loves it all. And it shows. So the panels are, more often than not, visually breathtaking.
I also got back my feeling of excitement for new one piece chapters. I can't wait for the lore drops this chapter, the bounties updates, what's going on around the world, etc.
The "filler Yonkos" are done.
Now we deal with characters that I've expected the SH's to face ever since their introductions. BB, Shanks, Admirals, Gorosei, etc.
All the good stuff.
