I think its dicey
unlike kiku which is very clearcut cause yamato was introduced as kaido's daughter but you see kaido and luffy refer to yamato like a guy.


end of the day , its a fucking fictional character so it doesn't really matter .
oda is definitely writing these scenes with some intent and unfortunately it seems like its flying above the head of his audience.
