Useless Emperor Eustass Kidd using all of his power wasn't even able to tickle Kaido.
He hasn't even shown attack on this level yet
Kid should have had Zoro's rooftop feats. But Oda is a hack.
See, Oda wants to keep this "rivalry" thing going for marketing value, but irl doesn't give a shit about it and honestly cares more about fan popularity rankings than writing good character arcs.
Kid was defeated by kaido, imprisoned by kaido, and he and his crew were tortured by kaido. What does Kid get to do against kaido? Nothing. His attacks were visually the worst, to the point to where many even claim that killer did more to kaido than kid.
Not only does Kid not get his moment against kaido, a moment that Oda himself set up in udon, he doesn't get it against big mom either. Between Kid and Law, who would you think would have the biggest stakes in taking down big mom. Law, who doesn't care about her and has no reason to fight her apart from keeping her away from Luffy? Or Kid, who invaded her territory before, wants to be pirate king, and wants to be above Luffy?
Obviously, you would think that Kid, the conqueror, the rival of Luffy, the guy who wants to be pirate king, would be more important against big mom, right? Nope, Law is the first to make her bleed, the one who breaks her bones, and the one who created the giant crater. Does it make sense, writing wise? Not really, but Law is more popular than Kid, so Oda did it anyway.
Oda had 2 options.
- Make Kid a real rival to Luffy. Make him stronger than zoro, give him ACoC over zoro, give him feats against kaido over zoro.
- make Kid a failed rival, have Luffy fight and defeat kid in fishman island/dressrosa/whenever, and then radically change how Kid is portrayed
Oda chose a third option: Don't really plan how your series is going to go and then play both sides, portray him both as a rival and a failure, so that way you can pretend you are somewhat of a competent writer and hope too many people won't be upset.
