While it is possible that they may be dead, we still need confirmation.
At the very least we will soon find out whether Big Mom is alive or not through her vivre card, seeing how we are about to see the BMP again very soon.
Also can you blame some people who still think they may be alive, Oda has done so much fake out when it comes to deaths that no matter what it is sometimes really hard to believe if a character was actually killed or not.
If Oda didn't do so many of these fake out deaths then I would probably believe that both Kaido and Big Mom are dead, but unfortunately due to so many of Oda's fake out deaths it's really hard for me to believe that both Kaido and Big Mom are actually dead.

Ryoukogyu has no proof of having any counter to advanced Ryou and CoC and he isn't stronger than Kaido whom Luffy smacked so hard that the volcano erupted by his sheer force. Luffy can easily smack the shit out of Ryokogyu as per cannon materials while you have no proof of Ryokogyu having anything that stops him from getting done by Luffy.
