As the title says, i decided to make this thread for us to speculate about the fate of the remaining Shichibukais
The fate of the Shichibukais
The Shichibukais used to be 7, but ever since Doflamingo's defeat, and Law being usurped of his Shichibukai title, they went down to 5, and after the decision to dissolve the Shichibukai group after the Reverie, it turned down into a confrontation between the remaining Shichibukais and the marines attempting to capture them, although Aramaki hinted at them currently having issues
These were the last known events surrounding them
Kuma
With his consciousness removed, he completely turned into a slave for the Celestial Dragons, even calling him the finest possible slave who doesn't even scream. But more importantly, Bonney seemingly has a deep connection with him, with the currently available informations
- Her old form was presented as Queen Dowager of Sorbet Kingdom(Conney)
- Bonney didn't think she'd run presumably across Kuma right away, suggesting she was looking for him
- She is seen crying presumably at what is happening to Kuma
Furthermore, it has been revealed Kuma was a King of an allied Nation to the government, which was another reason the Celestial Dragons wanted to use him as an example
And we know the mission of Sabo's group was to rescue Kuma, to the point they were ready for a do or die situation, leading into a clash between the revos and Fujitora / Ryokugyu
So the questions now are
- Was Kuma a King of the Sorbet Kingdom ? If so, since Bonney's old form as Queen of Sorbet Kingdom is known as "Conney", i think it's possible that she was Bonney's grandmother, and thus hinting at an indirect link between Kuma and Bonney
- Did the revolutionary's goal with Bonney's mission of infiltration led to Kuma being rescued ?
Not sure with the events surrounding Sabo. We know that the revos lost contact with Sabo's group
On the other hand, it is implied he isn't in Marijoa anymore with the use of "was" and seemingly Sabo posters being visible in random locations even after the news of Kaido / Big Mom's defeat has been spreading
Furthermore, the shocking expression Dragon and the rest of the revos have may not necessarily have anything to do with Sabo being captured. It may have something to do with the world government framing Sabo over something they don't believe Sabo could do. What could that be ?
Well it could have something to do with a certain event surrounding the Nefertari family
We know that since the King of Alabasta(Cobra) encountered Robin, he questioned the World government's ideology, with the 5 Elders viewing the Nefertaris as traitors, and Cobra being sick at the time
And coincidently when asking to Imu which light should be erased, his last focus was on Vivi(Cobra's daughter)
And considering Cobra was already sick, it's not impossible that took advantage of the fact he was sick to aim at disposing him(and presumably Vivi), with them ending up by framing Sabo over his death. I'm assuming however that Vivi survived judging by how plot importance and the future events hyped by Oda surrounding Vivi, but also Sabo and Hancock
In either case, it means the fate of Kuma, Bonney and Sabo's group is entirely linked to world government, specifically the Celestial Dragons
Hancock
In Hancock's case, we know that she used to be a slave of the Celestial Dragons, to the point she received the slave tatoo from them. And she remained a slave until Fisher Tiger's attack allowed them to escape, but while she escaped, deeply she still had the fear of being controlled again, the fear of being vulnerable like she used to be
And considering her relation with the Celestial Dragons, i think it's possible that her story will be linked to them again. Most likely she'd end up captured especially considering she taled that story to Luffy, which Luffy could potentially remember as a trigger to save her from them
It also ties into Oda's hint surrounding her fate
Furthermore, while the marines are mentioned to be having a dark time currently, they are still one of the top forces in the battle of supremacy, and thus for this reason, i think Oda would want for them to succeed in at least one of their missions, with Hancock being the perfect one to be used as a hypetool due to her past with the Celestial Dragons
It could even be Oda's way to validate the hype surrounding SSG
In either case, as mentioned, i think Hancock's fate will end up being linked to the Celestial Dragons as well
Weevil
As for Weevil, we don't know much about him outside of the fact he proclaims himself as Whitebeard's son, but things interesting surrounding him to me are the fact that
- Oda implied he didn't introduce Weevil for nothing, he even said Weevil is a super cool character for what he'd do in the future
- He is hyped to have overwhelming strength
- Furthermore, Oda implied he is aiming at a troll move surrounding Weevil's past and his connection to Whitebeard
Will he really turn out to be Whitebeard's legitimate son ? And what of Miss Buckin ? The self-proclaimed Weevil mother / Whitebeard lover ?
Since she was on the same ship with Whitebeard close to 40 years ago, it's safe to assume she was a former Rocks pirate
And we know that before the Marines' intervention after losing his Shichibukai title, she was guiding Weevil to aim for Marco and the other remnants for inheritance(although Marco implies there is none), but with Weevil being focused on wanting to take revenge on Blackbeard
At the time, Marco wanted to stay a bit to protect Whitebeard's final memento(the village he lived in as a kid, built and protected with time) before coming to Wano, but i'm assuming Miss Buckin's aim was halted due to the marines, with Marco presumably leaving the village unprotected to come to Wano
However, assuming Weevil already destroyed the marines who aimed at attacking him, nothing would really stop them in aiming for the village, although maybe if they don't find Marco, they won't attack it
In either case, it seems like his story is deeply linked to Marco(with Whitebeard's village and Memento) through Miss Buckin, but also Blackbeard if Weevil at some point decides to disobey his mother
Buggy
We know that Buggy's goal always had been to collect all the treasures in the world since the start
And thus naturally ended up aiming for the biggest of them(One Piece), located at a place he unfortunately couldn't go as a kid due to fever
And his leadership talent luck allowed him thus far to aim for his goals even while lacking in individual strength, from gathering powerful subordinates, gaining the Shichibukai title, and right after losing it, becoming one of the yonko
With this news as well, Buggy is the first Shichibukai confirmed to have overwhelmed the marines sent to capture him, considering he ultimately ended up known as a yonko. How he did it is the question though.
We know his initial aim was to use his men to hightail
That implies imo that he may have been saved by an external force, which due to his luck was so powerful that the marines decided to give the yonko status to Buggy, probably thinking that whoever helped him was working for Buggy
Mihawk
And for Mihawk, interestingly enough, he is the only Shichibukai who was shown to have predicted the abolition of the Shichibukai even before it ended up being known, but despite that she let Perona go while deciding to stay and fight whoever was sent to capture him
And while we don't know how it happened yet, what we know is he was presented as Zoro's ultimate goal since East Blue
With Zoro ready to humiliate himself by asking to be trained by him to become stronger and have a chance to surpass him
And during his training, we learned an important information concerning the black blades. At the time, it could presumably have been read as the simple sword coating with hardening
But judging by how the events unfolded in Wano, it's safe to assume the connection might be deeper than that
We know for a fact that even Wano Zoro was questioning himself Shusui's black color, with the discussion being stopped at the moment the process to forge a black blade was about to be revealed
This suggest imo that it's something Oda is aiming to explain later
Wano was also used by Oda to hint at Zoro's potential to turn Enma into a black blade in the future
And coincidently, after unlocking CoC and mastering to art to coat his CoC into his blade, he thought about his goal to never lose again until he meet and beat Mihawk, before noticing that if it's what it takes, he'd have to become the king of hell
That implies that great CoC mastery is necessary in the process to turn a blade into a black blade
However, it's been hinted as well, that it may not just be that, with unanswered questions being left for the reader to speculate
And currently the only one alive to have potentially turned his blade into a black blade is Mihawk. So that suggest to me that Oda is preparing some big reveal surrounding the black blades through Mihawk, and thus for this reason, he most likely annihilated the marines sent towards him as well
So with Buggy becoming a yonko, marines failing to capture Weevil and Mihawk, it would also make sense why Aramaki implied that the marines weren't doing good
Anyway that's it for me. Time for y'all to speculate around it for the remaining time until it's answered by the manga
