I really need to shoutout these two games in particular too, they changed my life so much!:

I got so deeply obsessed on these games as a child, they were some of my first and the biggest reasons I wanted to become a games designer and tried to for years as well.

I still think about it here and there because of games like these, I still fondly remember and adore these games. They left such an unforgettable impact on me. Absolutely beautiful, heartfelt, iconic, unique, escapist, immersive experiences and incredibly fun and adventurous!

Although honestly, I could start posting about so many obscure and just lesser known games I love so much, some of the "bigger" ones maybe at least. The temptation is real lmao.

I never played star Fox but I feel you on the others. We’d make it a summer tradition to link up with my cousins and we’d try to beat super Mario world in a single night or competitively playing two player DKc2 with my older brother.

Kirby Super Star and Super Mario RPG are also some of the best games out there, nostalgia blinded or not
Oh yeah a cousin used to have Super Mario RPG too, we had fun on that one too but it took a while to figure out the rpg genre that was new for us lmaooo.

And how could I forget Super Castlevania IV, oh boyyy was it a difficult game... but it was fun that was important, as you said we had a blast when we gathered in groups to beat them or be competitive.

I never played a Zelda game but 100% on Mario 64. That game was unmatched in the 64, even Banjo Kazooie doesn’t hold up to it
